Player guides
Everything you need to command a machine army on Herest. TORRENT wears its Total Annihilation / Beyond All Reason lineage proudly — if you've played those, most of this will feel familiar. If you haven't, start here.
Where to begin
New to the genre? Read Getting started, then The streaming economy — economy is the single highest-leverage skill in the game. Everything else is composition and positioning.
Getting started
The first five minutes: your Commander, first extractors and energy, your first factory, and the fixed opening grammar every match shares.
The streaming economy
Income, expenditure, and storage; the stall and overflow failure states; converters and reclaim. The game's core skill, made concrete.
Unit roster
The full Tier-1 land roster for both factions — Vantage and Feral — with stats, roles, and the signature units that break the mirror.
Controls & commands
Every order, stance, and quality-of-life command — shift-queueing, line-move, area commands, control groups, strategic zoom.
The game in one paragraph
Two autonomous machine networks — Vantage and Feral — fight over the last metal on a dead world. You manage a streaming economy of metal and energy, build an army of dozens to hundreds of cheap, disposable units, and win by destroying the enemy Commander. Resources flow continuously rather than in lump sums; every wreck on the battlefield is 60% of its metal back if you reclaim it; and every projectile is a physically simulated object that can miss, arc, or hit the wrong target. There are no hero abilities — all depth is composition, positioning, and throughput.
